SINGAPORE FASHION RULES THE RUNWAY!
As part of the continued effort to increase the profile of Singapore designers and labels, Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore) TaFf, with the support of SPRING Singapore, will be launching “Singapore Fashion Rules!” - the branding campaign to promote local designers and labels.
From now onwards, shoppers will be spotting flashy hangtags on merchandise from Singapore designers/ labels at Isetan Orchard, Takashimaya, TANGS Orchard and TANGS VivoCity.
The brainchild behind the concept of the hangtag design and tagline, Mr. David Wang who’s also the Executive Committee Member of TaFf and Vice Chairman of Singapore Fashion Week 2007, explained, “I came up with the “Singapore Fashion Rules!” tagline because it is a timely reminder to our consumers out there that Singapore Fashion Designers have what it takes to compete with foreign brands! It is also a much needed exercise. For this specially designed tag, I incorporated a star in the design as I see all our designers, whether established or emerging, as shining beacons in the fashion industry both locally and globally.”
In a special tie-up with Isetan, shoppers will be able to purchase the new exciting Spring/ Summer 2007 collections from the 5 designers labels featured in “Singapore Fashion Rules!” at Isetan Orchard, Promotion Space, Level 1 from 30 March to 12 April. Other promotion is also available at Takashimaya.
At the same time, TaFf will stage a fashion show titled “Singapore Fashion Rules!” on the 1st April 2007 at 12pm at The Tent @ Ngee Ann City as a key feature of the yearly Singapore Fashion Festival where Spring/ Summer collections are made directly available from the catwalk to consumers.
The designers/ labels showing in “Singapore Fashion Rules!” are: Individual Expression, ness, nicholas, eWomb and Tian.
Expect an opening with ultra-chic Vespa scooters that will stun the audience.
In celebration of Singapore fashion, 15 other Singapore fashion designers, including Tan Yoong (who will be representing Singapore in the first-ever World Fashion Week in Los Angeles this April) will come together on stage at the grand finale. The line up includes emerging design talents such as Harry Halim, winner of SFW ‘06 Asian Young Designers Contest as well as established designers such as Peter Kor, Celia Loe and Daniel Yam. This is a never-before show of solidarity of Singapore designers coming together to celebrate Singapore Fashion Rules!
“Singapore Fashion Rules!” is by invitation only, however public can still catch the runway show “LIVE” on web at http://202.172.234.170/sff/live.htm provided by Eyemail Technology, Inc.
