Margaret Mee : The Mother Therasa of the Amazon rainforests

ในวัย 47ปี มาร์กาเรต ได้เริ่มเดินทางเข้าไปในป่าแอมะซอน เพื่อสำรวจ และวาดภาพ ดอกไม้ นานพันธุ์ที่หายาก และยังไม่ถูกค้นพบ  ก่อนที่พวกมันจะถูกทำลายไป
ในทุกการเดินทางของเธอ เธอนำยารักษษโรคไปแจกชนพื้นเมือง และดูแลรักษาสัตว์ป่าต่างๆ ไปพร้อมกัน ทำให้เธอได้รับสมญานามว่า "แม่ชีเทราซ่า แห่งป่าแอมะซอน" ในคอลเลคชั่นนี้ เราได้แรงบันดาลใจจาก ภาพวาดสีน้ำของเธอ มาถ่ายทอดลงบนผืนผ้าไหม ซาติน ชีฟอง และลินิน ไดนำมาผสมผสาน กับเทคนิคการปัก และการพิมพ์ มาร่วมย้อนเวลากลับไปสู่ การเดินทางที่ไม่รู้จบของมาร์กาเรต ในคอลเลคชั่น Spring / Summer 2008 ของเรา

Mararet Mee, the art teacher, botanical artist and explorer, is our inspiration behind Spring / Summer 2008 Collection.  She started her journey into the Amazon rainforest when she was 47 years old to find and paint the rare and unknown flowers of the region before they are destroyed under the onslaught of men.  Everytime she went into the Amazon rainforests, she brought medicines to local people.  She even preserved rare animals herself.  That's why she was called "The Mother Theresa of the Amazon rainforests".  In this collection, we are inspired by her gorgeous water colour sketching of blooming colourful flowers and illustrated on the silk, satin, chiffon and linen, combining with embroidery and printing techniques.  Let's trace back to Margaret Mee's never ending journeys that have been delicately portrayed through our wonderful Spring / Summer 2008 Collection.
